Mt Rainier National Park
Spray Park - Mt. Rainier National Park, Washington
Spray park is an amazing place to be at this time of the year - wildflowers blooming all around the park. This is the west side of the mountain and gets the sunset light gleaming off its red rocks and glaciers. Was running across the trails to find a spot from where I could get a good shot of both the Wildflowers and Rainier. It is a great place to be except for the hundreds of mosquitoes which came in many of my shots. A fun day of hiking and photography
Mt. Rainier Reflection / Spray Park / Mt. Rainier National Park, Washington Spray park is an amazing place to be at this time of the year - wildflowers blooming all around the park. This is the west side of the mountain and gets the sunset light gleaming off its red rocks and glaciers. I went with my friend Ritesh to this spot just before sunset. We found this tarn just to the side of the park. The mosquitoes were having a feast here. Ritesh was busy spraying his body with insect repellents and shooing away the mosquitoes while I clicked. He loves hiking (read as he is trying to reduce his weight). He's a good friend and was willing to accompany me to the Park (a 3 mile hike) and back down when it was dark. I think that the sight was worth the effort and would definitely want to go back there again. He was on the lookout for Bears throughout our trek down back to the car :). More pics from Spray park to follow.
Mt Rainier National Park / Washington I took this snap while snowshoeing close to Paradise. I loved the texture made on the snow. I have no idea how it forms on the snow, but it looked amazing. I positioned myself so that the lines point toward Rainier. There was no special colour in the sky or on the mountain - so thought of converting it into Sepia.
View from Pan Handle Gap / Mount Adams and Mount Hood / Mount Rainier NP / Washington. This is the view from atop a mountain near Pan Handle Gap. The trail was completely covered in snow, but I luckily met 2 guys from outside Washington who were on the same trail. Loved hiking with them. To get to this view point, scrambled through loose rocks and gravel and thanks to those guys who helped me get up there and even offered to carry my backpack on the way back down. Overall wonderful people and a great day of hiking.
